Pelham Together’s Summer Internship Program has been matching local teens with locally-owned and locally-connected businesses for three years. After an application and an interview, students are hired and placed with a mentor for three weeks of part time, paid work. Interns begin all together for a two-day leadership seminar, and then continue to meet for lunches on Fridays where they can share experiences and support one another. Internshps sometimes turn into ongoing jobs, but they always create a relationship that continues to benefit both sides.
