Youth Council and Club

The Youth Council is a group of Pelham high school students with an interest in civic engagement and a belief that helping, serving and connecting our community makes a difference. The Youth Council is a group of young leaders who oversee club activities and community events focused on the social, emotional wellness of young people and promoting a healthy and vibrant community for everyone. Young people build leadership and life skills in a fun, social atmosphere. Students can sign up to be part of the Pelham Together Club at PMHS by speaking to Ms. Wasnetsky in Room 221 or emailing Danielle Marrero. Meetings take place every other week after school and outside of school as needed for event planning. learn more >

 

Summer Internship

Pelham Together’s paid summer internship program offers high school students an opportunity to build leadership skills, experience and connections by working at different local establishments with community leaders as mentors. Interns will present a summary of their project work to the Pelham Together Board of Directors in the fall following their internship. learn more >

Leadership Summit

A half-day conference for Pelham middle and high-school-aged youth that features inspirational speakers on topics relevant to young people. Speakers engage students in activities that build communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills—all habits that help prepare and enhance young people as leaders. Recent topics and projects have included using social media for positive leadership and change, and creating a digital responsibility campaign. learn more >

 
HOP

Heart of Pelham (HOP) Awards

The HOP and HOP Jr. Awards are given twice a year to high school and middle school students. Recipients are nominated by the community for demonstrating community values including compassion, kindness, leadership, determination, perseverance, and integrity. Local businesses, organizations, and individuals sponsor each award, which includes a gift card and other smaller items. Recipients are recognized at a casual yet meaningful ceremony with their family, friends, sponsors, nominators, and school administrators. nomination entry >
