Mentors
Adults from all professions and trades are invited to host a Pelham teen in a 3-week summer internship, serving as a mentor and trusted adult and sharing insight into the work world. Details and how to sign up found here.
Adults with finance, marketing, and automotive experience are encouraged to take an active role in mentoring youth who run the Pelicones Ice Cream Truck business.
event volunteer
Work on a planning team to create PT’s annual SummerFest and WinterFest community-wide events, including activities, logistics, sponsorships, engaging volunteers, decor, and promotion; set up volunteer sign-ups for day-of tasks; Chair PT’s premier fundraising event, SummerFest, with a friend, and live out all of your event-planning dreams as lead organizers!
Plan & chaperone youth socials
Plan fun social activities for middle school-aged youth to increase social options in town for this age group; collect youth ideas through student surveys, coordinate logistics, and organize parent chaperones. Past events have included Open Skate Nights, community art installations, volleyball and Spike Ball tournaments.
school liaison
This liaison at each school (Colonial, Hutchinson, Prospect, Siwanoy, PMS, and PMHS), is the point of contact for parents during the year to listen to and collect questions, ideas, and suggestions for topics related to supporting youth of that particular age group. The School Liaison will help parents navigate PT resources and supports, thereby acting as a peer parent for their school community. Parents can contact the School Liaison in their building by emailing contact@pelhamtogether.org and someone will connect you to the right person.
advisor (various Topics based on expertise)
Advise and guide PT staff on current topics and challenges facing youth today, including substance misuse, mental health, technology and social media, social and life skills; make suggestions to and connect PT with relevant speakers, websites, providers, and other resources to add to our online database and/or pursue for local events; advise on ad-hoc situations as they arise during the year, including using data from student health survey; guide and/or advise PT programming on areas related to their background.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Review volunteer
Participate in PT's DEI Review process and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all program and operations; meet 3 times per year to review three cornerstone PT programs and events through a DEI lens; discussions include program evaluation in order to ensure accountability and effectiveness at reaching goals with respect to DEI.
