Dr. Stumacher, who visited Pelham last January to speak to parents and students about e-cigarettes and vaping, recommends this resource (This is Quitting from Truth Initiative) for young people who are trying to quit vaping. This free mobile program is the first-of-its-kind, text-messaging service that incorporates messages from other youth to motivate, inspire, and support others to quit and stay quit. The program is tailored and designed for ages 13 - 24 years old.
Truth Initiative also offers parents of kids who vape ways to get support, via a text-messaging program as well as a digital quit smoking platform with access to a supportive on-line group for parents.
