Digital Literacy Workshops with Sarah Trombley


As part of Digital Citizenship month, Pelham Together is thrilled to bring back Sarah Gallagher Trombley, local mom, digital parenting expert and ex-Snapchat Executive. Sarah will host three 60-minute virtual workshops throughout October designed to help parents increase their knowledge and confidence about important digital topics.

Understanding Social Media

Monday October 7th

7-8 pm 

A parent-centric explanation of the Big 4: YouTube, Snapchat, Instagram and TikTok. 

  • Why these apps appeal to kids

  • The risks and challenges for kids

  • The protections/parental controls available

  • Advice for saying yes and saying no to social media

Snapchat Deep Dive

Thursday October 17

7-8pm

Back by popular demand! Learn and get comfortable navigating around this notoriously difficult app. 

  • How to navigate the app

  • Which parts kids use most 

  • How to set up an account and parental controls

  • What else you need to do to ensure safety

Friendship & Texting

Monday October 28

7-8pm

A parent-centric deep dive into of texting 

  • All the activities and places that fall under the texting/messaging umbrella

  • The risks & challenges presented for kids

  • The protections/parental controls available

  • How to encourage positive texting/messaging social experiences

All sessions will be virtual and can be taken standalone (you don’t need to attend one to understand another). Please register for access to session recordings and to receive downloadable Social Media and Texting Contract Templates.
