Young adulthood is a complex time marked by growing independence and personal responsibility. In the last year, more than 30% of college students were diagnosed and treated for anxiety, and 22% for depression. Parents and caregivers benefit from knowing the tools to assist their children with identifying mental health needs and providing support and resources.
Join Patricia Marino, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Psychology, Department of Psychiatry, Weill Cornell Medical College and Associate Attending Psychologist, the Horizon Unit and the Personality Disorders Unit, for a virtual presentation focusing on the following areas:
Understanding mental health warning signs
Identifying on-campus resources and helping your child to connect with them.
The role of parents and caregivers in mental health treatment
Dr. Marino is a clinical psychologist who serves as Director of the Weill Cornell Medical College Student Mental Health Program and Program Coordinator of the College Student Program, where she works collaboratively with families and college/university administration.
This program is presented by the Family Engagement Committee and will be available in English and Spanish.
