Preventing Substance Use and Addiction: A Community Conversation
On January 28th we hosted Preventing Substance Misuse & Addiction: A Community Conversation, a virtual workshop for parents and caregivers led by local psychologist, Dr. Brooke Monaco.
The session explored why young people experiment with substances, including some Pelham-specific statistics, key risk and protective factors, strategies for prevention, and how families can have open, supportive conversations about substance use at all ages.
Due to some technology glitches the recording of the workshop is not available, but we do have presentation slides and additional resources below which were shared during this timely and thoughtful discussion.
We hope to host Dr. Monaco again in the future, but in the meantime, please feel free to reach out to her with any questions or follow up at brooke@pelhampsychology.com.
