#PelhamTogetherStories: Everyone Deserves To Feel Good
Did you know that Pelham Together’s Mental Health committee connects families to local mental health providers who are vetted, affordable and individually matched to the family’s needs? In 2021, we’ve matched over 50 families to therapists for child, adult, couples and family therapy. During that time, over 1500 people have visited our webpage, “Resources for Help and Support,” which provides links to service providers, organizations, articles and books about a wide array of mental health conditions and social emotional challenges.
Along with so many more people seeking out therapists due to the pandemic, many professionals stopped accepting new clients. But at Pelham Together, we built a wide network of providers and will work with you to quickly find a therapist who has availability. You can submit your preferences on specialties, insurance type, gender, location, types of therapy and more through a confidential form. Melissa Ronan, LMSW, board member and chair of the mental health committee, will identify a few providers who best fit your criteria. All information is kept strictly confidential; names and identifying information are never shared, even within the mental health committee.
We know it can also be overwhelming to know where to start - to even decide you need professional help. Our site has a guide to understanding how to approach these questions, “Finding a Therapist.” If speaking to someone would be helpful, you can arrange a phone call with Melissa directly. Referrals can be made by emailing Melissa (melissaronan@verizon.net) or by filling out this google form.
