Summer Interns on the Move!

Exciting News! The Pelham Together Summer Internship Program is underway! Seventeen Pelham youth participated in a leadership training week facilitated by youth development expert and trainer, Daniel Horgan, that ended on Friday, July 27th. Students ranging in age from 14 – 18 spent time getting to know one another through interactive activities, games, problem-solving challenges, and discussions. Each day was based on a theme, including self-awareness, relationship-building, goal-setting, and creative and critical thinking. Check out some pics below! Interns have all been placed in a  variety of businesses and civic and non-profit organizations in and around Pelham to complete 30 hours of project work over the next 3 weeks. Stay tuned for an update on their experiences!

Every Friday over the course of their internship, Pelham Together interns will gather from 1-3pm for a workshop luncheon at Huguenot Library. They will share what they are working on, and move forward on finalizing a youth agenda of events, activities, and service projects for the coming year. Any Pelham teen is welcome to join us for community service hours during that time. Come find out about the intern projects, help plan teen events, and enjoy getting to know new people over pizza! Blind Puzzles: Interns worked in groups of 4 to see who could complete the puzzle in the fastest time with two of their teammates blindfolded.

Cup Towers: Working in two teams, the groups raced the clock to see which team could build the highest cup tower using only rubber bands to move the cups.
